How Jenny from Burlington, VT Brought Light to Her Farm Stand — and Her Income — with Freedom Candles

In the heart of Vermont’s lush countryside, where rolling green hills meet small-town charm, Jenny Thompson runs a beloved farm stand just outside her home and farm in Burlington. Known for her fresh produce, homemade jams, and warm community spirit, Jenny has always been passionate about supporting local agriculture — and now, American-made products too.

Recently, Jenny decided to try something new at her stand: adding a curated selection of Freedom Candles, hand-poured in the USA using natural soy wax and inspired by classic American scents and Patriotic messaging.

The result? A glowing success.

From Produce to Products: A Natural Expansion

“I wanted to keep my customers coming back year-round,” Jenny explained. “When I discovered Freedom Candles, I loved that they were American-made and smelled amazing. It felt like the perfect fit for my farm stand.”

Becoming a Freedom Candle Co. business owner, she received her own custom website and ordered candles to sell in-person too. She started with just a dozen candles, placing them on a small wooden table near her honey jars.

“People loved them! They’d stop by for tomatoes, kale, or honey and end up picking out a candle too.”

Supporting American-Made: A Value Close to Home

As someone who grew up in a family that valued hard work and community, Jenny is especially proud to work with products made in the United States.

“I’ve always believed in buying local and supporting American-made products,” she said. “It feels good knowing that when people buy these candles from me, they’re not only getting a quality product — they’re helping real families right here in the U.S.”

Easy to Sell, Even Easier to Love

Thanks to their nostalgic scents and clean-burning ingredients, the candles quickly became a favorite among her regulars — and even drew new visitors to her stand.

“I barely had to promote them,” Jenny laughed. “Once one person tried one, everyone else wanted to know where they could get them!”

The candles also made great gifts — perfect for neighbors looking for something thoughtful to bring to as hostess gifts.

Building for the Future: Online Sales & Community Connection

To help sustain the momentum, Jenny’s custom Freedom Candle Co. website keeps sales going 24/7.

“I had a stack of my business cards with my personal website QR code link and included it with each candle sold,” Jenny said. “This way, even when I’m not open at the stand, people still order the candles!”

“It’s exciting to see how this is growing,” she added. “This little addition to my farm stand has really opened up new possibilities and my husband and girls enjoy watching me succeed.”

Here at Freedom Candle Co., we applaud Jenny’s smart business sense and are proud to have her as part of the Freedom Candles Revolution! If you are interested in becoming a Freedom Candles business as well, visit our Sign up page!
